Galveston Island Family Crisis Center
The Galveston Island Family Crisis Center provides shelter services for homeless parents and their children and for older homeless youth (ages 18-21). The majority of older homeless youth are youth whom have become age 18 in the CPS system and then services have been terminated.
The Galveston Island Family Crisis Center serves developmentally disabled youth as well as youth experiencing behavioral and emotional problems. Case Managers and Counselors support clients with direct services and network with other community agencies to seek employment and acquisition of permanent housing for residents. Most of the clients need skill development in personal living, home living, community living, educational and vocational areas to effectively support independent living.
