Galveston Island Child Development Center

The Galveston Island Child Development Center provides contemporary preschool, early childhood education and childcare for approximately 150 children and youth from birth to early teen years. The program was developed to serve at risk and special needs children. The Center has a high rating, 3-Stars from Collaborative for Children (formerly Initiative for Children) that evaluates the quality of programming for the Texas Worksource.

The center serves children with special needs including developmentally disabled, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed and children with other neurological and physical disabilities. The child development center has separate facilities for pre-school and school-age children, indoor and outdoor play areas and provides meals and snacks for children.
