jameson center
The Jameson Center is a
licensed child placing agency (CPA). It recruits, trains, provides
home studies and monitors foster homes in the greater Galveston -
Houston area. It serves special needs children and youth from birth
through age 17. The program focuses on two separate populations. The
domestic population includes children from other states but primarily
from Texas that are referred by Child Protective Services. The international
population includes children primarily from Central America, South
America and Mexico that are referred by the United States Department
of Health and Human Services (Office of Refugee Resettlement, Division
of Unaccompanied Children). The CPA provides ongoing supervision for
the care and treatment of children, case management, therapy, child
psychiatric services, respite care and other supports to stabilize
children and youth preparing many for family reunification and others
for foster care and adoption.
