The Jameson Center is a licensed child placement agency. It recruits, trains and monitors therapeutic foster homes throughout Galveston County. It serves emotionally disturbed children and youth from birth through age 17. The program provides ongoing supervision for the care and treatment of children, case management, therapy, child psychiatric services, respite care and other supports to stabilize children and youth, preparing some for return home and others for foster care and adoption. The Jameson Center also operates the Galveston Multicultural Institute (GMI) that provides care and treatment to meet the needs of males and females from 5 to 17 years of age who are unaccompanied minors from other countries. The program seeks to reunite these children with families in the United States or to provide asylum or return to their home country if other options are not possible. CONTACT INFORMATION:
