Is a licensed Child Placing Agency (CPA) that recruits, trains, evaluates, monitors and provides supportive services to foster homes in the greater Galveston – Houston area. The agency serves children with special needs and youth from birth through age 17 and currently operates two foster care programs:

• The Therapeutic Foster Care Program –serving a population that is primarily native to Texas and referred by Child Protective Services (CPS) or Shriners Burns Hospital
• The DUCS Funded Foster Care Program –serving a population that is primarily from Central America, South America and Mexico and who have been referred by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (Office of Refugee Resettlement, Division of Unaccompanied Children’s Services)

• May own their own home or condo, rent a house or apartment or live in a mobile home
• Are any age over 21, even retired
• Have incomes in all ranges
• Recognize the growing need in their community for temporary care of children in need
• Are people whose lives are enriched by accepting children into their homes
