Children's Respite Care Program

Galveston/Brazoria County Children's Respite Care Program provides temporary relief for families and caregivers in which care is provided to children, age birth to 17 years. Respite can be planned or emergency child care, ranging in duration from a few hours to several days, and can occur in the child’s home or in a variety of out-of-home settings. By reducing family stress, respite helps preserve and support the family unit, prevents lengthy and costly out-of-home placements, and, in some cases, helps prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect.
