Children, Youth and Families 2010 sponsors strategic planning meetings for children and families of Galveston County. The Quarterly Strategic Planning Coalition Meetings bring together representatives from families and social service, school, child care, early intervention, faith-based, health-related, juvenile justice, law enforcement, city and county government, literacy, workforce, and other organizations in a forum to share and exchange information relevant to community issues and needs. Updates on community services and programs, funding and data needs, collaborative efforts, planning, and input gathering are among the activities/topics addressed at these meetings. The Coalition reviews the Annual Galveston Children's Report Care and other indices as additional means of identifying problems and issues that need to be addressed. Agencies, programs, coaltions, and task forces develop Action Plans which are then integrated into a Strategic Plan for Galveston County by CYF 2010. Once developed, the Strategic Plan is shared with community and government entities for input and position statements. Progress toward Strategic Plan goals can be measured over time. The Strategic Planning Coalition Meetings and Process and is chaired by the executive director of CYF 2010. |
