program (TLP)

Transitional Living is a program designed to assist young adults, between the ages of 18-22 in need of assistance transitioning to adult independent living. Our program offers cognitive, as well as practical life skill training in areas necessary for transition. Voluntarily entered into, this program will assist clients in making necessary paradigm shifts in their culture or behavior to facilitate lifestyle changes essential to a more positive and productive lifestyle.

Scope:
The scope of the Transitional Living Program covers the following areas:

 • Housing
 •
Transportation
 • Job Application Preparation/Resume Development
 • GED Acquisition
 • Practical Life Skills
 • Financial Planning & Budgeting
 • Counseling

Philosophy:
Positive partnership is essential if there is to be potential for lasting change, but the work of transformation lies with the client.

Eligibility:
 • Referred by foster care, guardian or outreach programs/churches/service agencies
 • Referred by immigration attorney & determined eligible to remain in the US
 • Must be minimum 18 years of age and maximum of 22 years of age
 • No violence or deviant sexual history &/or any charges &/or convictions of either
 • Must agree to follow all guidelines of the program, attend all required meetings, and comply with staff monitoring
