Community Youth Development

The Community Youth Development Program provides protective factors through after and summer school services to address family and community issues that lead to juvenile delinquency. Youth that live or attend school in the 77550 zip code can participate in services, at no cost, such as academic support, career preparation, job-shadowing, life skills, character development, mentoring, recreation and youth leadership development. The Community Youth Development Programs are: the Boys & Girls Club – Power Hour (academic support), G.R.E.A.T. (Great, Responsible, Educated, Associated Teens) Youth Advisory Committee and Youth Leadership Development, (Keystone) Teen Center (Recreation); Galveston Independent School District summer STEAM program; CYD After School Programs including mentoring, academic support and life skills in partnership with Odyssey Academy; CYD work experience summer program in partnership with Odyssey Academy.
